Be Ready for FLSA

A free, half-day workshop all about the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and what your company needs to know in order to remain compliant.

Workshop Overview
The Fair Labor Standards Act was enacted during the Great Depression to set minimum wage, overtime pay, record keeping and child labor standards. While it succeeded in protecting workers, it also created a maze of compliance issues. The consequences of mis-classification are great. You need to know that your company is in compliance.

You Will Learn:

  • The most common employer mistakes and how to avoid them
  • The difference between exempt and nonexempt employees and how to properly classify them
  • The federal regulations around youth labor and how state laws interact with them

With a focus on specific situations, this workshop will help you avoid common mistakes that could lead to potentially costly lawsuits and government fines. We’ll show you how to implement practices that will ensure proper compliance. This workshop is a must for: business owners, CFOs, HR directors, managers and supervisors.

Our presenters for this event are Byanne Kingsbury & Shannon Latham; both of whom have extensive knowledge of the insurance industry and compliance related topics such as FLSA.
